Virtual Machining and Optimisation Workshop

01 March 2018 - 01 March 2018

The AMRC along with the Twin-Control consortium are hosting a workshop on virtual machining and optimisation.

The aims of this event are to:

• Share the recent developments on virtual machining and optimisation.
• Discuss how industry are currently using it and what the gaps are.
• On-machine demonstration of virtual machining at the AMRC, along with a social lunch for discussion and networking.

Twin-Control aims to develop a simulation system that integrates the different aspects that affect machine tool and machining performance, including lifecycle concepts, providing better estimation of machining performance than single featured simulation packages. This holistic simulation model will be linked to the real machines in order to update itself according to their real condition and to perform control actions that will lead to performance improvements.

Where: The AMRC Knowledge Transfer Centre (KTC), Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Brunel Way, Catcliffe, S60 5WG.

When: 09:00 to 14:00 (including lunch) on Thursday 1st March 2018.
