AMRC to host cutting edge composite seminar
Date: 12/02/2008
In the aerospace, medical, automotive and oil and gas
industries, composites are emerging as the ideal materials for high performance
applications because of their light-weight, corrosion resistance, and tensile
strength. On Thursday March 13, 2008 the Advanced Manufacturing Forum is
inviting companies to learn more about this developing field by attending the
"Composites and Advanced Materials for Manufacturers" seminar beginning at 9:30
am at the Rolls-Royce Factory of the Future in Rotherham. The seminar
will conclude at 1:00pm with a buffet lunch.
"In highly competitive industries, it's essential to
network, promote your own products, and learn about what other companies are
accomplishing," says AMRC PR and Communication Manager, Timothy Scherer.
"The AMF seminars are an excellent way to accomplish all three in a
professional, yet informal environment. Our first 2008 seminar will help
companies understand the impact of composites on their supply chains; how to
adopt and work with them; and explore improvements in composite materials
processing."
The event will be chaired by the Editor of Aerospace
Manufacturing Magazine, Richard Burton and feature expert speakers from Lola
Composite; the Advanced Composite Group; Arnold Magnetic Technologies; Victrex;
and Dormer Tools. At the conclusion of the seminar delegates are invited
to tour the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre's Factory of the Future, or
meet with representatives from the Composite and Advanced Materials Technology
Centre, who are housed within the Factory of the Future.
This seminar is free to registered AMF members, and
£25 for non-members. Any company may join the AMF for £50 per year which
includes four seminars a year. To register for the "Composites and
Advanced Materials for Manufacturers" seminar, to join the Advanced
Manufacturing Forum, or for more information, please visit www.amrc.co.uk;
