The AMRC quality and environmental management team provides quality management support for all our research teams and projects.
The AMRC with Boeing is the first organisation of its kind to structure its research activities around a commercially recognised Quality Management System. We work to the same management standards as our industry partners. This gives our partners the confidence that we can meet their requirements.
Our Quality Management System guarantees a high level of quality, service and traceability across the organisation, and provides a framework for ensuring the highest quality of project management and research work.
Our main management system registration is the aerospace industry standard AS 9100 revision C (BS EN9100:2009). This fully includes the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.
The AMRC scope of registration covers:
- The provision of a product design service and manufacturing process development service for aerospace and other industries.
- The manufacture of prototype and small batch items in metallic, non metallic and composite materials.
For more information, download our Certificate of Registration.
Much of the testing in the AMRC laboratories, including our Microscopy and Structural Testing facilities, meet the requirements of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories) and are independently accredited by UKAS. For more information about which testing is covered by this accreditation please download our UKAS Schedule.
We are also qualified to the environmental management standard ISO 14001 as part of our commitment to environmental sustainability. For more information, download our certificate.
The AMRC Quality team includes dedicated quality managers and quality engineers, with core areas of expertise in Quality Assurance, Process Improvement, Research and Manufacturing technology. We oversee the operation and maintenance of the management systems, and are also available to offer advice and support to partner companies.
