Have you ever wondered what happens to AMRC owned research projects that haven’t been funded by partner contributions?
The AMRC’s Commercialisation Team works to protect these research projects and then convert them into commercial opportunities. Commercialisation commonly involves offering licence opportunities to businesses, however, establishing spin-out/joint venture enterprises may also be considered where appropriate.
When a commercial opportunity is identified arising from members generic fund (covered under the collaboration agreement), it will first be posted on our members Commercialisation Portal exclusively for a minimum period of 14 days. This exclusivity period allows any partner the opportunity to review the opportunity and contact the Commercialisation Team before the opportunity is presented to wider industry. If there has not been sufficient interest during the exclusivity period, the AMRC may then actively approach wider industry. The opportunity shall remain on the Commercialisation Portal until the management finds an appropriate exit route for technology exploitation.
Please take a look through our Current opportunities.
We look forward to working with you,
The Commercialisation Team
