Buro Happold receives a high commendation for Factory of the Future work

At the CN Quality Awarrds, Engineers Buro Happold has recieved a high commendation for its work on one of the country’s first carbon-neutral buildings, the Rolls-Royce Factory of the Future. The judges described the delivery of this £8 million project as “a holistic solution” and “a new standard for others to follow”.

Swindon school to host launch of monster technology truck

On Friday, June 26, pupils at a Swindon school experienced cutting-edge technology with the launch of a hi-tech 14M Long mobile demonstration unit for innovative manufacturing technology. It was showcased for the first time at Dorcan Technology College.  MANTRA (The Manufacturing Technology Transporter) is a specially modified HGV packed with the latest machinery and simulators. The truck will take to the road, visiting small businesses and schools throughout the UK to demonstrate manufacturing and assembly line technology of the future and help inspire young people to take up careers in engineering.

Alistair Darling Visits the AMRC

Alistair Darling, Labour Party MP and Chancellor of the Exchequer, visited the AMRC on June 18, 2009 while on a tour of South Yorkshire's high-tech industries.  He discussed the role and policies of public investment and capital spending in the UK.  To see the full report by Channel 4 News please click here.
