Cyber Physical Infrastructure: Key Challenges

16 May 2024 - 16 May 2024

Help us shape future interventions for establishing the UK’s position for innovation in connected cyber-physical systems.

The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre is proud to host an event on behalf of the NCPI ecosystem programme being run by Digital Catapult, Connected Places Catapult and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult supported by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

Join us at the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre’s Factory 2050 flagship facility for an afternoon of insightful discussions, an expert panel and broader networking opportunities.

Cyber Physical Infrastructure connects the real world with the digital world, and is changing how we work in the physical world. It is infrastructure just as roads are infrastructure and requires planning, rules and regulation to function well and innovation to function better.

We want to know - what are the high level principles that can be established across sectors that will play a fundamental part in creating the new possibilities to support our decision-making processes?

It is through answering this question that we can collectively build a safer and more resilient cyber-physical ecosystem, helping to inform future policy and learnings of best practices.

Building on the momentum of the Cyber Physical Future Forum in late 2023 and the launch of the national cyber physical infrastructure ecosystem, this first workshop in the series will bring together experts across a range of disciplines, technologies and sectors to develop shared learnings and approaches for the future across the breadth of requirements. This will look across the solutions that will use the infrastructure (e.g. robotics, metaverse and digital twins) and the infrastructure that underpins and connects them.

The event will consist of discussion panels, networking opportunities and a tour of AMRC Factory 2050. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided upon arrival.
