An exclusive demonstration at the AMRC, showcasing a technology collaboration for detecting tool wear on CNC machines. Since tool wear or chips can cause poor workpiece surfaces and affect component performance, early detection is crucial. Renishaw and Siemens will present a demonstrator of this system and welcome your feedback on its industrial applications.

This technology demonstrator brings together Renishaw’s NC4+ Blue laser tool setter and analysis software tools from Siemens. The demonstrator showcases in-process tool-edge monitoring during manufacturing. Using a Siemens Industrial Edge Application, the system collects, analyses, and actions high-frequency scan data from the laser tool setter. Information about the tool edges can be viewed at the machine using the Siemens software.
