National space academy space to learn: Space careers conference

05 February 2026 - 05 February 2026

This event will be beneficial for children and young people in the local area who are interested in the space industry or related sectors. It aims to raise awareness of the wide range of career pathways available and highlight that there are many different journeys into employment linked to the subjects they are learning.

By engaging with the event, attendees may begin to form ideas about where they would like their careers to start and gain clarity when choosing future work experience opportunities.

As part of the event the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre Cymru will have a stand, where you can come and talk to Zara-lea Field, AMRC Cymru engineering apprentice, about future careers and opportunities.

The event offers a valuable chance for young people to network and speak directly with industry professionals, including former apprentices who can share real-life experiences and insights. These conversations will help attendees better understand the skills, qualifications, and attitudes required for different roles, while also addressing any misconceptions about the space sector.

By attending, young people will be able to explore their options, identify areas of interest, and learn new information about the industry. Overall, the event supports early career inspiration, informed decision-making, and helps young people feel more confident about planning their future.
