Nuclear Strategy
28 April 2026 - 28 April 2026We are pleased to announce that Tom Hodgson, interim head of the integrated manufacturing group (IMG) at the University of Sheffield AMRC, will be presenting at the Nuclear Strategy | Great Britain conference main stage at 2.55pm.
Tom will discuss the AMRC’s vital role in the UK’s nuclear future, specifically focusing on our collaboration with Rolls-Royce SMR. This partnership is instrumental in developing the 'Experimental Module Assembly' (Experi) programme and the Module Development Facility at Factory 2050.
These initiatives are designed to de-risk high-value investments through advanced robotics, metrology and digital twin applications. By factory-producing the majority of key components of a nuclear power station, this modular approach ensures predictability and scalability, helping to bridge the gap between academic innovation and shop-floor reality.
