Next-Gen Nuclear: Powering the Net Zero
4 February 2026 | 2.30pm - 4pm
From hydrogen and CCS to nuclear, offshore wind, data centres and clean transport — the UK is powering a new energy future.
The Foresight Event is where it all comes together. Over two days of big ideas, bold debate and breakthrough insights, leaders from every corner of the energy transition will unite to shape the path forward.
The event will discuss the biggest challenges head-on — grid modernisation, industrial decarbonisation, financing net zero, scaling hydrogen, offshore innovation, and the race to decarbonise transport and data. Expect fresh perspectives, live audience debates, start-up pitches, and the critical conversations driving the UK’s clean energy transformation.
We’re delighted that David Stoddart, head of the nuclear manufacturing group at the University of Sheffield AMRC (Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre), will be speaking at the event on the panel “Next-Gen Nuclear: Powering the Net Zero”, exploring how innovation in advanced manufacturing, modular design, and precision engineering can accelerate the UK’s nuclear renaissance.
As the global energy transition accelerates, nuclear innovation will be key to secure, low-carbon power. From SMRs to fusion-ready components, David and the AMRC team are helping redefine what’s possible in the clean energy supply chain, ensuring that British manufacturing remains at the forefront of the global transition to Net Zero.
